Our main objective is to raise funds for the benefit of the children of Feering school. We organise a number of events for the children throughout the year. Examples include marathons, discos, treasure hunts and a Christmas Fayre. For the whole family there are quiz nights and separate parent functions – a great way for parents to get to know one another and get involved in the school community. In recent years the FPTA has been proud to raise funds that have benefited the children in a variety of ways. These funds have, among other things, bought science equipment, IT equipment, new whiteboards for the classrooms, football equipment, a lighting system for school plays and provided coach travel and ice-cream at the school Christmas pantomime trip. There are also a series of fundraising events taking place, see details on posters around the school and the ‘upcoming events’ pages. All parents and carers of Feering school children are welcome to join the Feering Parents and Teachers Association (FPTA), to share new ideas and fundraising suggestions and get involved in the events. Meetings are informal and friendly, providing an excellent opportunity for parents to play an active and positive part in the school community and have their say in how funds are spent.

If you would like to contact the FPTA their email address is:

Feering Primary School use Parentmail PMX as our electronic communications system to parents. Once you have registered, you will be able to make online payments, give parental consent for trips/activities, report absences etc as well as receiving all letters and correspondence from the School electronically either via email/text or the Parentmail App.

If you would like any assistance with Parentmail, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office on 01376 570296.

School Closure Notifications

In an emergency or due to inclement weather, we may have to close the school. If this were to happen, parents will be sent a text message via Parentmail and on the website the school status will be changed to ‘closed’. School closure notifications will no longer be issued on the radio but instead be listed on the Essex County Council – School Closures page. We will try to keep the school open where possible but will endeavour to give parents as much notice as possible to save unnecessary travel.

Persistent Absentees

From 1 September 2015, the Government reduced the threshold from 15% to 10%.  This will now class a child with attendance below 90% as a persistent absentee, compared with the previous figure of 85%, regardless of whether the school has authorised or unauthorised the absence.  This equates to 38 sessions or 19 days of absence across the year.

Roots to Food

Our pupils took part in a ‘Roots to Food’ cookery day where they learnt all about where food comes from and then had a chance to cook one of two delicious dishes.

Please see the link below for the recipes.
